a knock on my head

sorry for the recent silent

i had to lay low for a while. let me tell you what had happen.

two weeks ago, i’ve used the internet to download the Death Note 2 : The Last Name movie file.
the files were in 3 parts of about 200 to 300MB each.
i knew downloading it in the office it’s gonna take roughly 10-12 hours (!!!)
so, everytime as i was about to leave the office, i started the download and kept the latop in a very safe place.
by the time i came in to work the next day, the download has finished.
i did this on Moday and Tuesday.

it was on Wednesday, when my colleague came to my place.
i thought it was the normal visit from a friend. well, it was in a way.
but she did has another purpose.

she told me that on the previous night’s network scan, my laptop was ranked #2 highest internet usage
shit!
i knew the scanning were done regularly but somehow it didn’t cross my mind at the time i did the download.
#2 with 1.3GB of downloads!?! damn!
i apologised and told her it was personal use, eventhough it was after office hour.
i knew there’s no point of lying to her since the scanning program might have as well indicated what file i was downloading from the Net.
her advise to me, try and reduce the usage. two hours later, her manager emailed me and advise the same…
i concured…

that Wednesday and Thursday were the hardest days for me…
recently realising that i’m an Internet-addict, it was very hard to restrain myself from Surfing the Net.
everytime my fingers touch the touchpad, it has a mind of its own.
automatically, it moves the cursor and clicked on the Browser program.
my brain struggled to stop my fingers taking its own course of action…
arrgghh!!!!

this won’t help me in dropping it from #2 ranking to at least #11…

two hours before the office hours ended, i made a decision.
Take a leave on Friday!

and that decision was the right decision.

come monday, my laptop’s name wasn’t anywhere in the scanning report…

alhamdulillah… i’ve learnt my lesson!
